Recap of the 2025 State Convention held in Myrtle Beach, SC on April 18-19, 2025

The convention started with an all-day training on Thursday April 17, 2025. The subjects of training were 1) grieving mail counts and route inspections, 2) LMOU negotiations, and 3) grievance remedies. On Friday, April 18, 2025, National Officer Mack Julion, who serves as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer, addressed the delegates. He had a wide range of nuggets that he imparted to us from being active and involved in the PAC to the Trump Administration to our contract negotiations.

Nominations were held for the upcoming term. The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director of Retirees ran unopposed. The position for CDL 4 had a run-off between seasoned CDL John Monta and newly nominated Mark Harris, both from Branch 439 Greenville. Mark Harris won and is CDL 4 officer. CDL7 spot remains vacant. Other speakers on this day were Eileen Ford, National Officer of LPO, Regional Officer Christina Davidson and our State President Wayne Harlow.

On Saturday April 19, 2025, our NBA Eddie Davidson graced the stage. He introduces our new arbitration advocates and is still looking for more. We Aisha Culler-Branch 233, Gerald Rothell-Branch 4616, Keith Beltz-Branch 1569, and up and training John Crader-Branch 3902. RA Ben Paul gave a report about our Step B grievance cases and announced the route adjustment team. RA Dexter Lester explains about OWCP and the current issues of crime happening to letter carriers.

There were 73 delegates in attendance. The 2026 convention will take place in Greenville, SC hosted by Branch 439.

It’s that time of year again!!!! Election and installment time for the new administration. After the installation and positioning of the officers, branch secretary must notify and inform National of all the officers’ positions and contact information. Also include the branch name, number, and city address. Following are some regulations for governing branch elections.

*elections should take place at a time specified in branch bi-laws

*recording secretary must notify every member by mail 45 days before election

*nominations are done 4(four) weeks before election

*an election committee should be appointed at least 21days prior to election

*prepare ballots and mail out ballots 20 days prior to election

All regulations regarding branch elections are in the NALC Regulations-governing branch election procedures which can be found on the NALC.org website.

Please notify me, as well, of any administrive changes in your branch before our 2026 state convention.
